UCW Platform Overview

The Unity{Cloud}Ware represents a stack for the IoT developers providing device management, monitoring, remote administration, firmware upgrades, API, a marketplace of smart applications and much more.

UCW Gateway

A hub for devices with limited communication capabilities such as sensors. The gateway device disposes of a local cache where it stores data temporarily in case communication with UCW IoT Cloud or customer hosted server fails. It sends the data the moment the communication is restored. The UCW gateway can be also used for remote management and monitoring.

UCW Portal

Used for project management of various IoT use cases. A project in the UCW Portal is represented by a set of devices that can be organized into numerous groups. For these devices, we can perform a variety of operations such as remote management, monitoring, firmware upgrade of selected devices, data analyses, data visualization and much more. Developers can extend the portal functionality using add-ons from the UCW Marketplace.

UCW API

Allows developers to communicate with devices over a RESTful or MQTT interface. Using the UCW API developers can send data from gateways to the server, monitor their devices, send a request to perform an action on a device and much more.

UCW Hive

UCW Hive is a product based on the UCW platform primarily targeted on smart homes and industrial buildings. It is an IoT hub allowing to control and manage IoT devices. The UCW Hive supports extending its functionality by installing applications from the UCW Marketplace.

Manage your devices

Enable, disable, deploy or interact with your device. Check its status, manage configuration or update firmware remotely. Extend its properties and maintain security.

Collect data

UCW API is used to push any data from devices. A developer can choose to store them in either our storage or use services of other providers (e.g. Azure IoT Hub). The very same API can also be used to obtain either your data or data provided by someone else.

UCW Marketplace

Not satisfied with your current thermostat application? Find better one using UCW Marketplace! Have you already created one? Go there anyway and sell it.

The goal of the marketplace is to create an ecosystem that helps IoT developers share add-ons, firmware and other smart applications for the UCW Portal or UCW Hive. These extensions are essential for creating more complex IoT applications.

Your IoT Hub at smart home

Just one platform with the ability to monitor and control all devices and appliances in your household.

Smart Home

IoT applications around the smart homes include smart pots that tell you how to cook a meal, smart dishwashers that analyze the optimum load, smart lighting bulbs that can be controlled remotely, etc. While many of these applications are triggered by sensors and require data management, there can be a single IoT gateway to all those applications - UCW Hive.

Connected Home

As homes become increasingly smarter, the IoT gateway is becoming the center of communication between different devices and home appliances. It makes the management of whole the ecosystem of smart devices possible.
